Why choose Flagstaff Youth Cycling Organization?

Should you trust just anyone to take your child on a bike ride?  Cycling (especially mountain biking) is inherently dangerous and there are risks involved.  Your child's physical, emotional and social development are of utmost importance, both on and off the bike!  We take our business seriously and we will provide your child with a safe, fun and professionally run program!  



  1. We start with building appropriate skills so kids learn to control and ride their bikes in a way that's SAFE

  2. When kids are SAFE, we have FUN!

  3. When kids are SAFE and having FUN, we learn to be SELF-SUFFICIENT 

  4. We learn about FITNESS and healthy lifestyle 

  5. If kids are interested in racing, we learn how to COMPETE


We always practice safe rider to coach ratios for all activities, we always have at least one adult per six children. 


We have comprehensive liability insurance for all of our programs.  


All of our staff and coaches are trained in risk management and certified by one or more of the following well-respected organizations:


We follow professional coaching guidelines from the U.S. Center for SafeSport.

All FYCO staff must:

  • Pass a background check

  • Be certified in Basic First Aid and CPR 

  • Be certified by USAC, NICA, IMBA, or PMBIA

  • Complete the U.S Center for SafeSport training

  • Complete the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's HEAD'S UP Concussion training course

FYCO has a zero tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior by its participants, parents/guardians, staff and coaches.  Please see our Code of Conduct for more information.
